Spring City United Methodist Church focuses on the educational needs of our congregation. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday morning. Careful attention is paid to developmental learning, Bible based curriculum.

CHILDREN – Classes for all children age 3 through grade 5 is available in the children’s department. A nursery is also provided for the toddlers and crib babies whose parents attend adult Sunday School classes. (We believe that even the youngest child can profit from carefully chosen lesson
material).

YOUTH – Classes are available for youth 6th grade through 12th grade during the Sunday School hour. This is their opportunity to experience the relationship between the Bible and how it applies to daily living.

ADULTS – Each adult Sunday School Class is a unique group of people with a commonality of faith/life interest. Beyond Sunday School each class is directly involved in many parts of the total church program.

NURSERY – The nursery is for children from birth to three years old. Since this is the first contact with the church, we try to make them happy and content, so they will want to come back. Their mothers can attend their class and know they are safe and cared for.

KINDERGARTEN – This class is for children 3 years through Kindergarten age. The goal of this class is to make learning about the Bible fun. If children enjoy Sunday School they will want to attend regularly.

ELEMENTARY 1-2 – This is for children in the first and second grades. Our literature is Invitation Bible Study for Elementary. It consists of music, Bible study and Bible activities.

ELEMENTARY 3-5 - This class is for children in the third, fourth, and fifth grades and covers a variety of material and opportunities to continue learning more about our Judean Christian heritage, the church of Jesus Christ, Methodism, and especially about the events leading up to the birth, life, ministry, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A variety of activities including Bible study, crafts, interpreting in action, and Bible verses all contribute to the spiritual growth of each child. The older children prepare for confirmation class. The children also become involved in the activities and work of the Church; helping in the worship service, carrying out the duties of the acolyte program, joining in the youth choir, enhancing the service with their songs; and other activities suitable for this age group.

JUNIOR HIGH YOUTH – This class is where grades 6th through 8th learn about the Bible and how to use it. This class is designed to find Biblical answers to contemporary youth issues.

SENIOR HIGH YOUTH – This class is for 9th through 12th grade. The goal of the class is to have a more serious approach to the study of God’s word and help the youth to discover specific and practical ways the Lord works in our every day lives. They meet in the Parlor.

CELEBRATION CLASS – This class is comprised of young adults ages 25-45 both singles and couples. This is a contemporary biblical study group. The class meets upstairs in the Educational building.

THE NEW GENERATION CLASS - “A Welcome Wagon Environment” this class is an adventure of growth in Christian believing. It involves change from an acceptance of conventional beliefs to more thoughtful probing, using scripture, the church tradition, our Christian experience, and our reason to work out our own theology. Our members are adults maturing in Christian belief. Significant strides in our journey of faith are made utilizing visiting Christian leaders, the “Growing Christian Series” publications, and open discussion between class attendees. We accept God’s grace and return it through our love of God, others, and ourselves. This class meets in the Family Life Center.

PAIRS AND SPARES – Just like its name, this class is open to all ages and categories– singles or couples. The class uses Bible based material. Please join us in the Family Life Center.

LOYALTY CLASS – This is a class of adult women seeking to increase their knowledge of and response to God and His world. The International Lesson Series in the adult Bible Studies is studied using the lecture discussion format for teaching, studying, and sharing to develop and strengthen faith. This class supports a variety of local missions such as Our Daily Bread, Christmas at the nursing home, needy students local and international, among others. The class meets in the Family Life Center.

FELICIA CLASS - This class was originally organized in 1934 as a young ladies class. The class is now open to all age ladies. Many enjoy and have been in this class for over 20 years. It meets in the Library and studies the International Lesson. It has a very active prayer group and faithful members who always welcome newcomers. They also have an outreach program for shut-ins and contribute to youth and mission programs.

MEN’S CLASS – This class is made up of men ages 45 and up, using comprehensive Bible study, having discussions pertaining to that subject matter and brief song service prior to Bible study. We contribute to Kiwanis, Christmas Fund, Habitat for Humanity and Memorials for deceased members.
