Judy Ezell
Chior Director

I grew up in Spring City and Spring City United Methodist has always been my church. I attended East Tennessee State University and have taught 3rd grade for almost 25 years. I am currently teaching at Spring City Elementary School.

My summers are spend gardening (flowers not food) and reading. I’m glad Spring City has such a great Public Library!

I love music. I have been a member of Roane Choral Society for 20 years and the director of our Chancel Choir for nearly 14 years. Recently, I became the director of our hand-chime choir, the “Ding-a-Lings”. Both are wonderfully groups of people who are “making a joyful noise unto the Lord.” It is my privilege to serve my church as their director.

Bryan Massengale
Organist

My name is Bryan Massengale and I’m a middle school band director in Dayton, which is located in Rhea County. The fall of 2008 will start my 26th year of teaching and all my experience has been here in Rhea County. This is my home. In fact, I live on the farm where my father was born back in 1923.

After graduating from Rhea County High School, I attended and received my BS degree in Music Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1980. I have also received advanced degrees from UT-Knoxville (MS - Administration and Supervision - 1993) and Tennessee Tech University (EdS - Educational Leadership - 2006).

I have been playing the piano and organ at church since 1972. I taught myself how to play the piano as well as the organ. My church work has been here at Spring City United Methodist Church and at New Union Baptist Church in Dayton, TN.

Judith Barger
Administrative Assistant

In 1990 when my oldest daughter started to college, I began working as Secretary here at Spring City United Methodist. I attended church here as a child and youth. When I married Ronnie, I became a Baptist and we raised our two children, Krissy Barger Tallent and Veronica Barger Greene, in the Baptist faith but I have always felt a part of the Spring City United Methodist Church. When God opened the door to work here, I jumped at the chance. I knew what wonderful, kind people were in this church and it is a pleasure to serve them.

As the years passed, Ronnie and I both retired in 2004. I continued to work part time when the office needed extra help or between Secretaries. In 2008, I came back full time as Administrative Assistant and as always, it is a joy to serve the people of this church and to see exciting new programs and opportunities happening within the church.

I am a native Spring Citian and a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church. We have four grandchildren, Davinity, Garrett, and a set of twins---Alexandra and Alyssa Tallent. We also have a Grandpuppy that lives in Nashville. Ronnie and I enjoy being hands-on grandparents and always try to be at all ballgames, cheerleading events, school events, recitals, and lessons of all kinds --even puppy kindergarden. We are transportation for our grandchildren because with four children from the same family in three different schools in Rhea County Krissy and David always need help.
We also enjoy frequent trips to Nashville where our youngest daughter and husband, Chad, live with our grandpuppy, Bogey.
